Custom FRP grating panel being measured against a project dimension drawing at WayTong Building Materials

Custom FRP Grating Fabrication

Most projects fit within standard grating panel specifications. When they don't — unusual spans, aggressive chemical conditions, non-standard dimensions — we fabricate to your requirements rather than asking you to adjust your design around a stock product. Tell us what you're dealing with, and our applications engineers will propose a resin system, panel configuration, and dimensional layout specific to the job.

Every custom order starts the same way: you send us the key parameters of your application, we come back with a technical proposal. There's no charge for an initial specification and quotation, and no commitment until you approve the proposed solution.

Information to include with your enquiry

The more detail you provide upfront, the faster we can turn around a specification. If you don't have every item on this list, send what you have and we'll fill in the gaps during the initial discussion.

Essential parameters

  • Panel dimensions — length × width × thickness, or total area to be covered
  • Application type — walkway, platform, trench cover, stair tread, or describe your use case
  • Design load — pedestrian traffic, light vehicle, forklift, or a specific load in kN/m² if known
  • Support beam spacing — centre-to-centre distance between supporting members
  • Chemical environment — substances the grating will be exposed to, including concentrations and temperatures if available

Additional details that help

  • Drawings, sketches, or photos — even a rough dimensioned sketch gives us a head start
  • Existing material being replaced — what's there now, and what problem is driving the replacement
  • Surface finish — grit-top for slip resistance, or a smooth finish for specific applications
  • Fire rating requirement — any flame spread or smoke index specifications the grating must meet
  • Quantity — number of panels or total square metres
  • Timeline — when you need delivery on site

This is the same information our engineers would ask for on a first call. Sending it with your enquiry means the proposal you receive will be based on your actual conditions, not assumptions.
